This is our story.

In the fall of 2014, the first Maker Fellow was invited to Camp Curtin Academy in Harrisburg, PA. to spark interest around the national maker movement and S.T.E.A.M. projects that were capable of capturing the imagination of middle school students.

Excitement built as the vision was shared and new partners rallied around the effort. Within a year, 2 more Maker Fellows were placed in schools and a new S.T.E.A.M. pathway was forged from Kindergarten to College. The Foundry was born - officially branded as a social enterprise initiative of Partnership Planners LLC.

A Note About COVID-19…

In light of COVID-19, our educational systems have been forced to adapt and change. School administrators, teachers, parents and caregivers must find new ways to use technology to meet the needs of their students in virtual learning contexts. While there are still many uncertainties about how the 2020-2021 school year will open one thing is clear…we will need to change the ways we educate our students and we will need to learn how to do this together.

Maker Fellows

The Foundry Fellows program was established to develop aspiring leaders in the social sector. Each year a cohort of talented Foundry Fellows are selected to build the capacity of schools for 21st Century life and work. New this year, Foundry Fellows will form a professional learning community of graduate students & working professionals who collaborate together in order to design and fund STEAM project-based learning opportunities with partner schools. Fellows can receive credit for their experiences through a partnership with Messiah University’s Graduate School of Education.

"We are looking for leaders who have ambition to lead social change in schools, communities and the world around them."
